Removing Paid Preparer and Firm Information from a Self-Prepared Return

In Tax Processors Plus Desktop, if you are going to keypunch an individual tax return for a client who prepared the return themselves for the purposes of e-filing, you will want to mark the return as a self-prepared return.
From the Main Menu of the tax return (Form 1040) select:
- Mark Return Electronic
- Other E-File Information
- Verify the EFIN is correct
- Select Prepared By to toggle the selection from PREPARER to SELF.
Marking the return as self-prepared removes all of the firm information and preparer information from the return.
