How to attach a federal extension statement to a Wisconsin state return

In order to get an extension of time to file a Wisconsin individual tax return, a taxpayer does not need to submit a request prior to filing their tax return. When filing the return, Wisconsin requests that a statement be attached to the return indicating which federal extension provision applies.
To attach the statement in Tax Processors Plus Desktop, from the Wisconsin Tax Return Menu select:

- Other Categories
- Attach a statement indicating which federal extension provision to apply to WI
