Where do I make an Automatic Extension of Time to File Payment for Kansas?

Desktop · Written guide Content date 1 min read

Kansas allows an automatic extension to October 15 if federal Form 4868 is filed with the IRS and a copy is enclosed with the Kansas return when filed. Kansas does not have a separate extension form. If 90% of tax liability is paid on or before the original due date, an automatic extension is applied and no penalty is assessed.

To access the Kansas Extension Payment, from the main menu of the Kansas state return, select:

  • Payments and Refundable Credit
  • Kansas Extension Payment
