In Tax Processors Plus Online, if you file an individual extension request using Form 4868, and the request includes a federal balance due as well as payment information, Client Status for the return will continue to show the federal balance due as $0.
The status information in the Client Status window is based on the data sent to us by the IRS when they acknowledge the extension. In its acknowledgement, the IRS does not include the balance due on the extension, even if direct debit payment information was entered.
