A tax return claiming the Clean Vehicle Credit on Form 8936 for a qualified commercial clean vehicle will reject if the vehicle's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is missing:

In 'QlfyCmrclCleanVehicleYesGrp' on Schedule A (Form 8936), if both [ 'VehOfCharSubjToAllwncDeprecInd' and 'AcqCmrclClnVehUseNotResaleInd' ] have a choice of "Yes" indicated, then 'GrossVehicleWeightRatingNum' must have a value greater than zero.
To correct this reject, from the Form 8936 menu in the return select:
- Edit Qualified Vehicle Credit Information - Select the vehicle.
- Commercial Vehicle's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating - Enter the vehicle's GVWR.
