New York State Extension Validation Error for Missing State ID

The New York State Extension will not pass validation when e-filed if the State-issued ID is not entered. The validation error is:
The 'http://www.irs.gov/efile:StateIssdIdAddInfo' element is invalid - The value ' ' is invalid according to its datatype 'String' - The actual length is less than the MinLength value.
To resolve the validation error, from the New York Tax Return menu select:
- Personal Information
- Other Categories
- Document Number from NYS ID
